Cyclone (artwork and assets)

For a Live brief, in teams of three, we created board games based on climate change.
For our game, we created Cyclone, a game based around surviving on an island with various natural disasters caused by climate change.
You can pick between 6 characters, each survivor of a plane crash that landed on the island. You must collect limited resources and food to stay alive.

This was concept art created for the finished cover of Cyclone, this was then created traditionally for the final version.

This was the final board game and pieces used for the live brief created by our team.

I created the boardgame cover, two characters, main board design, character tokens, Player hut cards, and the natural disaster spinner.

This was the final board design I created digitally based on a group concept sketch of the player board design.

We were each tasked with creating two character designs for the board game (6 characters in total.) Each character was based on a different animal and had different perks for the player to use in-game.

"The Deer" or Sika Roe

Sika Roe was one of the final designs created for the board game. This character was an older bitter person that stayed away from other players. This gave her the advantage of being a better gatherer and survivor, but a terrible fighter.

"The Skunk" or Striped Hog

Striped Hog was the other final character created for the board game. They specialised in hunting and were faster, making them better at fighting and hunting. Despite this, they are weaker and less efficient with recourses meaning they will use up more than other players.

Natural disaster spinning wheel.

This was the custom design for the natural disaster spinning wheel players could use each time a round was complete. The font and design were created by me.
