Geno and Mallow (2023)

This character is based on Geno from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the seven stars.
This was part of a group SMRPG cosplay with my family. Both Geno and Peach were made from scratch including all of the props.

Geno's electronics in the gun arm was built by my dad. These have 2 different animations and 3 sounds for different attacks and voice lines.

Geno roughly took a year to make and has a removable Hat, cloak, changeable eyes, moving jaw (manual), Canon arm with different Sounds and LEDs, as well as a little Mallow plush.

The suit was made using EVA foam and started off as a series of paper patterns.

All of the wood grain was hand painted using an airbrush.
The hat, cloak, and boot covers were all sewn from scratch.
Mallow was made from scratch and took three days to make.

Geno was one of the most challenging suits to make as it was a completely different style and medium at the time. The suit continues to get upgrades and has lasted at many events.

Geno's cloak was made out of a polyester cotton material that used various wires and stiffeners in the collar to keep it's shape. Iron on stars and shiny blue thread were used for extra details on the cloak. Poppers, Rope, and EVA foam were used to create the front clasp of Geno's cloak.
